Horseback riding is famous for its many physical and mental benefits. That’s why more people are taking notice of the sport and looking for places to learn it. Most enthusiasts purchase their own equine and get official training at an equestrian facility in Westchester County. To enjoy the experience, make sure to get quality service from an equestrian facility in Westchester County.
Things to Consider When Choosing an Equestrian Facility in Westchester County
If you are a horse owner, you must be careful in selecting an equestrian facility in Westchester County. They will be responsible for the well-being of your equine every day. You’d want to make sure your animal is happy, healthy, and properly treated when you’re away. These conditions are penultimate for enjoyable riding. Here are some things to evaluate when choosing an equestrian facility in Westchester County:
- The Pasture Access at an Equestrian Facility in Westchester County
While browsing for an equestrian facility in Westchester County, it’s important to ask if the place has pasture access arrangements for the horses. If an equestrian facility in Westchester County keeps boarded animals in stalls all day, they won’t be able to exercise. It’s better to choose an equestrian facility in Westchester County that at least has a daily turn-out into a paddock.
- The Training Offered at an Equestrian Facility in Westchester County
Ask yourself, does an equestrian facility in Westchester County offer training? Aside from daily access to paddocks, lessons are an excellent way for horses to get used to being with riders. An equestrian facility in Westchester County must have professionals who can coach clients with their equine. They can help ready individuals with mares or stallions who will participate in competitions.
- The Amenities of an Equestrian Facility in Westchester County
When choosing an equestrian facility in Westchester County, make sure the fencing, stalls, and paddock are all optimal and safe for your horse. In addition to good living conditions for your equine, an equestrian facility in Westchester County should include tack rooms, wash racks, and locker rooms for riders.
Fly control systems and lounge areas are also extras that will make you and your horse’s stay in the barn more comfortable. Visit an equestrian facility in Westchester County to assess what they can offer to you and your animal.
- The Hygiene of an Equestrian Facility in Westchester County
During your visit to an equestrian facility in Westchester County, take time to check if the place is maintained. Not only do you want your horse to be cleaned regularly, you’d also want the same for their environment. Look at the stalls, aisle ways, and troughs of an equestrian facility in Westchester County if they’re rid of dust or manure that might make your equine sick.
Ask employees at an equestrian facility in Westchester County how often they clean. Knowing this will help you decide whether an equestrian facility in Westchester County is fit for your horse.
- The Horse Health Care at an Equestrian Facility in Westchester County
There are many possible diseases that a horse can contract in a stable when you’re not around. That’s why you need an equestrian facility in Westchester County that has a set plan and medical staff in place to ensure your equine’s well-being. For your peace of mind, inquire about the medical routine and emergency health care at an equestrian facility in Westchester County.

Our farm is situated on the grounds of a historic Vanderbilt estate, giving us a sizeable land area for all our facilities, which includes:
- Stables
The boarding stables are made from steel-framed bricks that can accommodate various horse sizes. Our airy stalls come with rubber mats and individual water supply. This facility also has a riders’ lounge complete with a fireplace and leather seating. We also have separate ladies’ and men’s full locker rooms and indoor and outdoor wash stalls.
- Riding Rings
We have a primary outdoor ring which is 300’ by 130’ and two secondary, one indoor and one outdoor, that are both 200’ by 100’. Our indoor riding facility has a heated second-story viewing area with seating, TV, and Wi-Fi.
- Trail
We use the Rockerfeller Preserve Riding Trail system which is just adjacent to our farm. The track features a 45-mile well-maintained scenic bridle that overlooks the Hudson River, perfect for leisure riding.
